Preheat oven to 350°.
Grease a 9 x 13 glass pan.
Mix sugar, eggs, and half & half in a bowl, then add vanilla.
Pour over bread and let sit for 10 minutes.
In another bowl combine brown sugar, pecans, and melted butter.
Bake bread mixture for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, top with brown sugar mixture and return to oven for approximately 20-25 minutes. Cook until firm in the center and then remove from oven.
Sauce Mixture Instructions:
Combine the ingredients for the sauce (except for the whiskey) on the stove in a small boiler and stir until smooth, over medium heat.
Take off the stove, add whiskey, and stir.
When mixed, pour over bread pudding.
Serve warm and enjoy the evening.
2 cups Sugar
5 large beaten eggs
2-1/2 cups of half & half
3 tsp pure vanilla extract
4 cups cubed or torn croissants-
allow to stale overnight or cook for 5 minutes in oven.
2 cups packed brown sugar
1 cup chopped pecans
Sauce Mixture Ingredients:
1 cup sugar
1/2 stick butter
3 TB vanilla extract
3 oz brandy or whisky (they use Crown Royal)
